A Christian nation would be governed by more than just the standards of the Bible that each of us wish to adhere to. We would adhere to God's Word ...with a compassionate and forgiving heart, yet still we would adhere to it.
I will respond to:
(A Christian nation would follow Jesus' teachings and the rich (not the blue collars who make enough to be comfortable) wouldn't be rich because they'd give their riches to the poor. So all the quote in the picture is saying is those people can't have it both ways - large corporations either keep up what they're doing and and them and the people who support them stop going on and on about a Christian nation, or they start practicing what they preach."
"...the same people who always emphasize the Christian roots in the country. And it just seems pretty hypocritical to me."
"In terms of Christian standards, yes, I do believe Christians should measure up to ALL their standards if they want to have a say in anyone else's. I know a guy who eats pig, shaves bald patches on his head, has tattoos, has admitted to spitting on the poor (all things prohibited in Leviticus), but goes to anti-gay rallies because "the Bible said it's wrong." He's a hypocrite, and when I asked him about it he literally said to me "Why do you hate Christianity?" Here's some news for him - I don't hate Christianity. I hate when people adhere to the parts of the Bible that they feel like adhering to, ignore whatever isn't convenient, and then whines about how they're being persecuted for their believes whenever someone calls them on it. However, not everyone is Christian, and not everyone who isn't Christian is some sort of terrorist, and they shouldn't have to adhere to Christian doctrine."
"...it's about hypocrisy, which is exactly what this post was about."
"I think that over time, large amounts of people in an organized belief system distort what the teachings really were and what they really meant.")
I try to make a point of listing who it is when I put quotations up ...but, must have been rushed, and lost it now. Sorry!!
I was making a point of how diverse people's views are, and these are not my views ...and sadly, I can't even remember why I listed them. But, if any comments will be forthcoming, I will do my best to try to come forth with how I feel about it ...if you aren't already saying, "Never mind! We've heard enough."
